The South Royalton Town Band

early band 1907

Yes, the South Royalton Town Band has been around for 151 years, ever since its creation in 1869.

“It is as permanent as the hills”

Dick Ellis (who founded Ellis Music in Royalton) did not start the Town band, but revitalized it.
He loved South Royalton and conducted the band for 70 years.

After he passed away in 2015, Phyllis Kadlub, his assistant conductor for 25 years,
took over and gave it all her love and good humor for the last 3 years.

Now the Band has found a new conductor Carolyn Keck from West Newbury who will start off the 2020 season with us.

The Band has a vast repertoire, ranging from marches, Broadway musicals, jazz, old Dixieland,
tangos, novelty tunes,… and much more.

The Band welcomes members of all ages and experience.
It is a wonderful way to play and perform music with others, for others, and to improve your musical skills.
