Phyllis Kadlub has been with the band since 1959. She became assistant conductor in the ’70s, and then lead conductor after Dick Ellis passed in 2015. She stepped down after RTB's 150th season in 2019, then stepped back in as co-conductor in 2023.
Dale Post is currently music director and one of three music instructors at Mid Vermont Christian School where she instructs elementary recorders, a high school piano/theory class, Chapel Team, instrument lessons, middle and high school band and choir. Dale has taught at many area schools in central Vermont and New Hampshire. She and her husband own a farm in Royalton and have 6 adult children and 7 grandchildren. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from the University of Vermont.
With special recognition and fond memories of our late director and friend, Dick Ellis, who also founded Ellis Music in Royalton. He did not start the Town band, but he revitalized it. He loved Royalton and conducted the band for 70 years (1946-2015).
Demitri Papadopoulos was RTB's conductor from 2022 through mid-2023. Born in Greece, Demitri was raised in Syracuse, NY. He earned a dual Bachelor's degree in Music Education at Syracuse University, and a Master's Degree in Wind Conducting at Rutgers University.
