Dale Post--Music Director

Dale Post is currently music director and one of three music instructors at Mid Vermont Christian School where she instructs elementary recorders, a high school piano/theory class, Chapel Team, instrument lessons, middle and high school band and choir. Dale has taught at many area schools in central Vermont and New Hampshire. She and her husband own a farm in Royalton and have 6 adult children and 8 grandchildren. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from the University of Vermont.



Vajl Adamkowski--Assistant Director

Vajl Adamkowski is a young conductor, composer, and teacher in the Upper Valley. He is active in several community bands: he helps to direct both the Royalton Town Band and the Lyme Town Band. And as a member of the Upper Valley Community Band, Vajl plays saxophone and serves on the board. Vajl attended the University of New Hampshire from 2017-2022 and holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education. Since the Fall of 2022, he has served NH School Administrative Unit 23 as the itinerant elementary music teacher. He teaches students in grades PK-8 at Woodsville Elementary School, Warren Village School, and Bath Village School.



Kendrick Madore--Associate Director

Kendrick Madore is a current Vermont State University Castleton student, studying Music Education and Theater, and is also an alumni of White River Valley High School in South Royalton. He has been playing trombone for over 10 years and studies conducting at VTSU Castleton with Joshua Thompson. He has been playing trombone with the Royalton Town Band since 2022, and has guest-conducted several pieces. He loves playing/conducting with RTB and looks forward to helping the band grow and improve!





Past Conductors

Richard Ellis

With special recognition and fond memories of our late director and friend, Dick Ellis, who also founded Ellis Music in Royalton. He did not start the Town band, but he revitalized it. He was a life-long resident of South Royalton, graduating from South Royalton High School in 1941. After attending the University of Vermont and the New England Conservatory of Music, he returned to teach music, organize and play in many local area bands. He directed our band for 71 years (through 2015).



Phyllis Kadlub

Phyllis Kadlub is a professional musician and educator and an esteemed long-time band member and director. She graduated from from Hartt School at University of Hartford, CT with a degree in Music Education. She has performed in many ensembles and venues in and around Vermont, including serving as principal trumpet of the Vermont Philharmonic Orchestra for two decades. She joined RTB in 1959, became the band's assistant director in the ’70s, and then director in 2015. Although Phyllis officially retired at the end of RTB's 150th season in 2019, she graciously and enthusiastically took up her baton to lead the band again in 2023 and 2024.



Demitrios Papadopoulos

Demitri Papadopoulos was RTB's conductor from 2022 through mid-2023. Born in Greece, Demitri was raised in Syracuse, NY. He earned a dual Bachelor's degree in Music Education at Syracuse University, and a Master's Degree in Wind Conducting at Rutgers University.
